Anooya Swamy is a New York-based filmmaker who was born and raised in Bangalore, India. Working across narrative film, documentary, and installation, she is an Ang Lee Scholar, a BAFTA Scholar, and a 2026 Sundance Ignite x Adobe fellow. Her debut film, Pankaja, is premiering at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival. She is pursuing an MFA in Film & Television at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, where she also served as a teaching assistant to Spike Lee. She is currently developing her first feature.
