Dewayne Perkins is an Emmy-nominated writer, actor, producer, and comedian. He can next be seen starring in the highly anticipated Seth Rogen comedy series “The Studio,” premiering on AppleTV+ this March 26, 2025, which comes on the heels of his most recent on-screen appearance opposite Keke Palmer and SZA in Sony’s feature film, “One of Them Days.” Fans may recognize Dewayne from his critically acclaimed, feature Lionsgate film, “The Blackening,” a horror-comedy which he co-wrote alongside Tracy Oliver, and with a sequel currently in development. Additionally, Dewayne is currently writing and executive producing an original film adaptation of Hasbro's “Clue” for Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures with Jason Bateman and Ryan Reynolds set to star. Named by Variety in 2020 as a “Comic to Watch,” Dewayne’s comedy writing credits are extensive, including work on “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” “Saved by the Bell,” and “The Amber Ruffin Show,” the latter of which earned him an Emmy nomination. He has also written for the WGA Awards, The Webby Awards, and the 2018 White House Correspondents Dinner, where one of his jokes was featured in The New Yorker's "Best Jokes of 2018." As an actor, Dewayne has had recurring roles on Netflix’s “The Upshaws” and Peacock’s “Saved by the Bell,” with additional appearances on IFC’s “Sherman’s Showcase” and MTV’s “Wild ‘N Out.
